Community Guidelines

Last updated: July 14, 2026

Pre-launch policy draft. JamHub is in early access — this plain-language draft will be finalized with counsel before general availability. It reflects how we operate today.

JamHub is built on a simple idea: musicians helping each other make more music. These guidelines keep the community welcoming, safe, and useful for everyone — beginners and pros, in every genre, in English and French.

The short version

Be respectful. Show up when you say you will. Don't harass, spam, scam, or put anyone in an unsafe spot. Report anything that crosses a line.

1. Respect everyone

Music brings people together across backgrounds, ages, and skill levels. No harassment, hate speech, sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia, or discrimination of any kind. Punch up, not down. Assume good faith.

2. Adults only

JamHub is 18+. Do not create an account or organize events with people under 18 through the platform.

3. Be honest about who you are

Use a real name or a stage name that represents you. Don't impersonate other musicians, teachers, studios, or venues. Verified badges are earned.

4. Keep messages musical

Messages are for talking about jams, gigs, lessons, and music. No unsolicited romantic or sexual messages. No spam, no scams, no MLM pitches.

5. Safety at jams and rehearsals

You're meeting other adults — treat first sessions like a public introduction. Meet in a rehearsal space, studio, or public venue when possible. Trust your gut. If something feels off, leave.

6. Respect the professionals you work with

Teachers, studios, and venues set their own booking, cancellation, payment, and studio rules. Members are expected to respect those rules and communicate clearly and on time.

7. Show up or say so

Cancel early when plans change. Repeated no-shows for jams, lessons, or studio bookings can affect your standing on JamHub.

8. Copyright and covers

Only post media you have the rights to share. Covers and demos are fine; pirated recordings, backing tracks you don't own, or someone else's mixes are not.

9. Reporting

Every profile, message, jam, and listing has a report option. We review reports and can warn, suspend, or remove accounts. Emergencies — contact local authorities first, then let us know at safety@jamhub.ca.

10. Enforcement

Minor issues get a heads-up. Repeat or serious violations result in suspension or removal. Decisions can be appealed by replying to the notification email.

Thanks for helping the JamHub community be the kind of scene you'd want to walk into.
